Static electricity and hair

Anonymous
With the lower humidity of fall and winter, my hair has more renegade hairs than usual, especially after blow drying and flat ironing. I know I should start using a humidifier in the house, but are there other things that have helped some of you with this? Products or techniques? I don't wash it everyday and I use some product but don't want to just slather on oil. Any suggestions would be really helpful. Thanks.

If you don't want to go the route of serums, try a fabric softener sheet.

after putting on hand lotion, lightly pat/stroke the top layer of your hair. The residual lotion on your hands will help with the strays, but you aren't getting too much on.

I also really like the uber-expensive Moroccan Hair Oil. About a quarter teaspoon from the ears down, then run my fingers through my hair to distribute.

You might also need a more intensive conditioner once a week or so.

Rub a small amount of olive oil on your hands then through your hair, cheap, easy.

Also, drink more water..

second the moisturizer trick. put some on hands, rub most of it in hands, work the remainder through your hair. nice and light. do it for my dd too.

I second this! It is fast and leaves no residue on your hair. You can keep some in your purse or car.
