entry level jobs in the bay area

Anonymous
I am a recent college grad still in the bay area. Entry level pay in my field is like 45k. Maybe this seems reasonable but I cannot afford to live anywhere on that, even in my current apartment with a roommate (which I am sick to death of). What do people do? Who is able to take one of these positions?

People who are okay with roommates.

If you are hoping to live on your own in a field that starts at $45K, I would look outside of the Bay Area. You will get to that point much faster.

people get creative.. like renting out a bedroom in a sfh. Or move to a lower col. I used to live in the Bay Area. I moved because it was getting too expensive. Not worth the commute and hassle, imo.

Son makes slightly more than that but not much more. He lives in Oakland area with 2 roommates. Commutes to SF.

MY dd lives in SF and makes 3 times that OP and still has a roommate. There is no way around it...you have to have roommates or you could be a nanny and live with the family you nanny for...you'd make more than $45k too!
