I am. It's been 4 years now, maybe more even? I love it, it's made a huge difference for me.
How it helps is that it suppresses my appetite by making me feel actually full. Like if I eat more I might get sick. That said, I think often times it helps in a placebo way though. I don't have health insurance so it's a huge financial commitment and that helps my willpower to not binge. I find myself thinking that if I binge on a day I took it, it's like flushing that $$ down the toilet. I feel like it takes away the bingeing that think is driven by pure biological/chemical reasons. It hasn't made me stop completely or anything but the type of binges I have now are more the mental weakness/stress/emotional eating type. So that's a % less of binge occurrences. But, my body gets used to it and I have to either keep upping the dose or I take time off so it's effective again for a while when I start. Basically I cycle on and off times with it; two months on, 3 week off or something like that. My dose is supposed to be 35mg but I usually take more like 50-55mg nowadays. I also play a bit by taking it like 4-5 days in a row and then off for a few days. Prescribed and monitored by by primary care doctor. To be perfectly I probably don't have the healthiest relationship with the medication anymore. I'm probably "recovered" enough to not take it but since it's basically speed, I think it helps keep my weight down just for that. |
| Is it similar to phentermine? |

Wow, thanks for this. I tried Naltrexone a few times via the Sinclair method but it made me too woozy. I already take Adderall but will try Vyvanse!
Also reading Brain Over Binge right now after a DCUM recommendation. |
Do you mean you'd take Vyvanse instead of Adderall? Because I don't think you'll be able to get a prescription for both simultaneously since they're essentially the same medication and it would be like taking double. |
| I took Vyvansenfor binge eating but had to stop because my BP went way up from it. I have finally found Bright Line Eating, which is the ONLY thing that’s ever worked for me. Good luck, OP. Binge eating is a bear. |
Yes, I meant I would try Vyvanse instead of Adderall, which I take for ADHD. |
