| Also, does anyone have experience with these breeds? |
|
We looked into getting a multi-poo. Have you googled for info on them yet? They bark a lot and I mean A LOT. They along with Maltese pure breeds are the most dumped dogs at shelters due to the barking.
They are also slow to learn house-breaking. I know nothing about Hava-poos. I have met several cockapoos which have all been amazing though.. I'd love one of those but we currently have a doodle and that's enough for me to handle. |
| Yes, I’ve done a fair amount of research but hadn’t really heard that before! That’s good to know though! Thanks! |
Really? NP. All of the cockapoos I have met are bat-sh*t crazy. My neighbor's is on psych meds, my son's school friend can't bring theirs around strangers, etc. |
You realize that most of these behavioral problems are down to the owners and not the breed itself, right? |
| Just get a poodle! I have a mini poodle and he is wonderful! |
| Why do you want breeder info if you don't know anything about the breeds? |
+1. Get a maltese, a poodle, or a havanese. Only sketchy breeders will sell "poo" breeds. |
That's not true at all. Not even a little bit. That said, OP should look into adopting instead. It seems pretty clear that barely anyone on this thread a) knows exactly what they want and b) knows what dogs are waiting to be adopted. There are so many. Please try them first. |
Do you have a source for this? Whenever I look at petfinder, about 50% of the dogs are pit bulls, and 25% are chihuahuas. I see very few Maltese, so I have a hard time believing they are the MOST dumped dog. |
You should have read the rest of my post. Google the breed and find your own information, I spent days on this, some months ago I'm afraid I'm not going to re-google "maltipoos" for your sake.

| OP, my family has a cavapoo, and he is absolutely the sweetest dog ever! |
I'm a veterinarian and most of the small dog mix "poos" I have seen are from puppy mills. They are often brought in for their first appt with their new family at an age where they should still be with their mom. They are usually sickly and full of worms and coccidia. |
| Get a Havanese. Ours is ten and he is awesome. Good family dog, can be barky sometimes but is small and he travels well. |
I was going to say to get a havanese. They don’t shed. Why would you mix a havanese with a poodle? I thought the po8nt Of the golden doodle was for a great family dog + non shedding. Havanese are already both of these. |
