Preschool and Daycare Discussion
|
I'm interested in applying to the DC JCC for preschool next year for now 18 month old DD. I've emailed and called the director to set up a tour with no response (its been 2 weeks now). At this point, I'd love any feedback on the admissions process at the DC JCC. Are they not accepting applications for next year? How does the admissions process actually work? (there's a web based "waitlist" that I don't really understand how it fits into the larger equation)
Thanks very much for any insight previous applicants can provide -- its hugely appreciated! |
| Major Jewish holidays have been in the past few weeks... |
| in the past you've only had to fill out an application and mail it in. no required tour or interview. |
| I believe it's just a first come, first served wait list -- perhaps with priority for siblings -- so it's a good idea to send in your application as soon as possible. Your email might have been missed bc/ I find the director is normally very responsive to emails. I suggest emailing again. Good luck! |

OP Here. Thanks very much for the replies -- seriously --each was really helpful in a different way. I'm going to go ahead and submit an application online and then try emailing again. Especially thanks for insight into the Jewish Holiday Calendar -- I kind of thought that might be part of the issue but wasn't sure. I'm really interested and excited about the JCC program because I'm biracial/half Jewish and would love for my daughter to appreciate and understand her cultural heritage in totality.
Also I appreciate the even and encouraging tone of your responses-- Thanks Again! |
