| Can anyone recommend a dog walker in the Bethesda area? |
| sorry I don't have one but you might try craigslist. my friend found hers there and loves him (in adams morgan though) |
| This isn't exactly what you asked but have you looked into doggie daycare? The price to have a dog walker come to your house for a 30 minute walk is nearly the same as your dog playing all day long. We used to pay for a dog walker but for $2 more a day, I like knowing she is with her doggie friends all day and I can even watch her on a webcam. |
| Try www.petsit.com -- it's the website for Pet Sitters International. You can do a zip code search and specify what your needs are and it spits out a list of all the pet sitters who are members of PSI (almost all reputable pet sitters are) -- I don't know where you live in Bethesda but for a test I put in the 20817 zip code and got over 20 services. Good luck! |

Try Marla Rosenthal. She absolutely LOVES animals! has volunteered extensively for animal welfare organizations. She travels throughout Montgomery County.

I would be careful with this! We hired someone we thought was reputable because she was listed on here and I discovered that she was taking our $ but not actually coming to the house and walking the dog. Fortunately, I realized it within the first week. After this, I would NEVER hire someone that wasn't referred by a friend. This woman had given us referrals and I checked them but who knows who they were, probably her sisters or something. I wish I could remember her name but it was 4 years ago but I do know she lived in Silver Spring. One way to deal with this is to make sure the person leaves a note every day - at least you know they are coming to the house. |
| I am curious at what people pay for a dog walker. Our's comes once a day and charges us $15. She walks them for about 1/2 hr then hangs out for a about another 20. Is this amount about average? One of our neighbors says they pay $5 per day and that seemed so low to us. |

Who the heck is walking your neighbor's dog for $5?? From what I understand, going rate is $15-$20 for 30 minutes. We used to pay $18. |
That's an excellent price for 50 minutes of time. Most people pay that for only 20-30 minutes. Are you in Arlington by chance? We're in the market for a walker. |
