Kids With Special Needs and Disabilities
Can anyone recommend a gymnastics facility in MoCo, DC, or NoVA that has success in working with kids with motor delays? My dd is VERY interested in gymnastics, but would most likely need 1:1 instruction due to her delays. I've tried Freestate in Gaithersburg, but they never get back to me; I have a message out to Silver Stars, and am waiting to hear from them. Thanks!
I think Silver Stars does have a special needs class called...Sparkling Stars? Check their Web site - it describes it.
Not gymnastics, but Maryland Youth Ballet, Silver Spring, has a dance class for special needs, they have a harness that hangs from the ceiling and moves on a track so kids can dance. The photos make it look like a lot of fun.
Arlington County has adaptive gymnastics.

This might be more than you're looking for, but friends of mine love it:

Here are some other gyms in the Montgomery County area...Marvatots, Hill's Gymnastics, Preston Academy and Xtreme Acro. I don't know if they have special needs classes, but I can tell you that classes that many times when we have taken classes there have been just two or three kids and there is a wide range of ability. Also, although not gymnastics, you may want to look into Fitness for Health in Rockville. They have an amazing gym with equipment that I haven't seen anywhere else. We're doing it now in place of PT to get my son ready for team sports. It's one on one or they will match you with a peer group.
My child is currently at Motion Education at Dynamite Gymnastics and it is great! They have a amazing program. Go to www.dynamitegc.com
My child is starting a special camp today at Dynamite Gymnastics that is jointly run with his OT, Move into Writing. It will cover gross motor and fine motor and sounds like it will be a wonderful program. He is very excited about it and so are we.
marva tots in rockville offers shadows during the general classes.
My child has motor delays, you don't say your child's age. But we took My Gym classes and he did best in a class for younger kids who were closer to his developmental age.
