Hi parents! We are looking for all recommendations on a good daycare place in Bethesda / Rockville / Potomac / Chevy Chase area. We want a place where our 9-month old will be in a safe, reputable place with trained staff. Our nanny fell through, and we'd be looking to start in September! Thanks so much in advance!

You are going to have a very tough time finding a strong center with no notice. I'm going to rattle off a list from the top of my head in case it helps, though - good luck. I looked in the Bethesda area, so that's what this represents.
Children in the Shoe (either E/W towers or BCC)
Wonders (Edgemoor location)
Family Academy of Bethesda
Child Time
Bright Horizons
Guiding Star
Rock Spring
Chevy Chase Children's Center
Kinderhaus

We just started sending our son to Nanda Childcare in Rockville (near Shady Grove Hospital) and we really like it. I don't know if they have any openings, though.

We have our 9 month old at St. James Children's Center off Seven Locks in Potomac. We really like it, not sure if there are openings though or not.

If you are open to an at home daycare, I would recommend Daylight Family Daycare. My daughter has been going for over a year and we are very happy. Two kids are leaving in September so I know Renee (the owner) has openings. THe address is 5007 Strathmore Ave, which is right off Rockville Pike in Kensington and the phone is 301.942.2039. Good luck!

I used to run a daycare from my home but all of the kids that I watched have now moved on to preschool. As I was pregnant with my third child I did not add any other children to my daycare. Now that I am up and moving after my son's birth I am looking to do some childcare from my home. I have a 4 year old daughter and a 2 1\2 year old daughter. My son is just over a month old now and is quite a pleasant and easy baby to care for. I have excellent references who would be willing to speak with you at any time. I charge $12 an hour or would be willing to charge my previous rate of $150 dollars a week for part-time care (up to 20 hours) or $250 a week for full time care if your child is to be watched weekly. I also have sibling rates. I am only looking to add one child or one set of siblings to my own brood so it would be more of a nanny-share situation than a daycare.
Please give me a call or e-mail me if you are interested.
