| I am just curious to know how long people had to wait until they fit into their regular clothes. I had my baby 4 weeks ago, and I had a c-section, so I can't work out quite yet. I know it could take a while, but I am really tired of wearing the same old maternity clothes I've been wearing! |
| I think about a month, and then I bought a few regular tops and jeans in a bigger size for the transitional period until I could fit back into my old clothes. |

...Well, my son's now seven....
Just kidding. It took a while. I wound up buying a few all-purpose more-or-less work-acceptable items that were a few (Ok, more than a few) sizes larger than I was pre-pregnancy. I eventually shrunk out of them. |
| I wore maternity clothes throughout my 12 week maternity leave. I bought pants a size bigger than my pre-preg to wear when I went back to work. I fit back into my pre-pregnancy clothes by the time DD was 6 months (took until DD2 was 8 months before I got back into my old clothes). The one size larger pants came in handy when I was pregnant with DD2 b/c your tummy expands so much faster the second time around! Oh and I did Weight Watchers both times to lose the pregnancy weight and get back into my old clothes. |
| I never wore any of my maternity clothes post-partum. I wore my regular pre-pregnancy yoga pants for the first week or so and was able to squeeze into my most of my regular pants by 10 days or so (with significant muffin-top action, but still, my regular clothes). I had gained around 30 lbs and an small-to moderately sized belly. |

I wore yoga pants for the first 2 months, I was constantly working out anyway! My clothes fit after that, although they were much tighter than normal. Everything fit normally by about 3-4 months.
Also, check with your doctor about exercise. I recently had c-section #2, and was cleared for "all normal activity" at 4 weeks, so I started running then. Although everyone is different. |
