In home daycare needed January/February 2010 Alexandria-VA

| We are expecting a baby boy in October, and will need a good daycare for him starting late January/February 2010. We live in Alexandria off of I-395 close to Van Dorn Street Metro Station, but can easily go to Kingstowne/Rose Hill/Franconia/Springfield neighborhood. Do you have any recommendation on the daycare in this area?? (We are already wait-listed on one place, but need to have back-up plans...) |

| Just checking to see where you guys have visited so far. We are in the same area and I am due at the same time. We've checked out Great Beginnings so far (wasn't impressed). Definitely not a whole lot to chose from without astronomical wait lists! We may be considering driving even further to find something good! |

You can find licensed, regulated, care providers in that area through the Childcare Network of Kingstown Franconia http://www.ccnkf.com/about.html under Parent/Provider Connection. Members of CCNKF are also members of the Virginia Alliance of Family Child Care Associations. There is no fee. Good luck.

We love our in-home daycare in Kingstowne. The owner is Bila Hamdael. You can read a few posts about her and get her contact info on this thread:

| Just mastering this reply - we looked at soem daycare centers in tysons (first steps, tyson's children's center) but haven't found much in arlington. Very open to in home care but it's hard to week through the 100 or so names you find online to figure out who is actually good - especially with infants. |

| We will be leaving our current daycare provider, Cristina Santis, at the end of August so that my twins can start preschool closer to home. Cristina has a wonderful in-home daycare, which is located near the intersection Franconia/Springfield Pkwy and Beulah Street. We have truly enjoyed our time with her, and would love to see her find another family who can benefit from the loving, caring environment that she provides.
