Private & Independent Schools
Just wondering if it was a good private school- i'd appreciate some insights- thank you!
I toured the school and found the director very enthusiastic and passionate about the school. It certainly has a strong multi-cultural component and an accelerated Science/Technology program. Have you visited it?
OP here- not yet- I wanted to get a sense of whether it was worth it- i haven't even heard of it which is why i posted.. thanks- at least i got one positive..
No feedback, but I was happy to see it open and hope that it proves to be a good school. The Vienna/Oakton area is really under-served in private school choices, so I am rooting for it. And if it had a high school option I definitely would have given it a look/see.
PP- why do you say if it had a HS you'd go see it? is it because your kids are heading to HS soon or because the fact that it doesn't have HS is a negative? The private school angle is new to us (we just thought we'd go public but now I'm working too and when we eliminate the nanny pay- we can do this) so bear with me.. thanks!
Because we are at the high school level now and the school is more or less just around the corner from my home. : ) |

I know it's further away but there's a great new high school with a strong technology focus called Ideal School in Ashburn. I went to their Open House and the kids seemed very together and happy.
You might give it a look/see

I know couple parents who send their kids to Pinnacle Academy. They seem very happy, especially with the science and math program. I heard that they have very strong science teachers.
It doesn't seem to have a lot of diversity ... look at the pictures on the website ... I'm guessing a lot of the kids are founders'/teachers' kids, but don't know. This says nothing about the quality of teaching, etc., as it might be quite high.
My daughter just finished PreK there and I've really liked it. Its a really new school which is why a lot of folks likely haven't heard of it. Currently goes through grade 8 but they are planning on expanding up through high school as each grade advances.
