Does Student Body President mean anything to colleges?

DS is running for SBP. He hasn't been super active in anything except student government and one varsity sport (not recruited) Good and real volunteer commitments and a great summer internship last year at a hospital. Top grades and scored 1500 on new SAT. Will have 13 AP classes at graduation.

No hooks. He is very interested in Pomona or Harvey Mudd for sciences.

Oh, and he is coming from a decent but not great public high school.

Yes. Leadership positions always matter. Your son has great stats. With a good essay, he sounds like a great candidate for the Claremont colleges. However he should also look at East coast schools!!
