TAG student taking courses at PGCC over the summer?

Anonymous
Does anyone have any experience with younger high school kids taking a class at PGCC over the summer?

I know that there is a program called Dual Enrollment for students who are currently in Grades 11 and 12, but am wondering about younger students (Grades 9 and 10).

I saw something online about PGCC allowing younger students who are TAG identified attend but am wondering if pgcps would still pay for the class? Also wondering if your child has done this and if so how the experience was.

Thanks!

Here's a link to information about TAG identified kids under age 16 taking courses at PGCC

My then-middle schooler took a bio class there and really enjoyed it.

I'd say if you can make it work, go for it.

Did you have to pay for it or would PGCPS cover the cost as they will for dual enrollment?

You have to pay unless it's under dual enrollment. It's still a really good deal $$-wise though.
