I had a friend like that in grad school. She was a very sweet, kind, good-hearted person but also pretty...on fire for her Lord. It took three or four years before she finally gave up trying to win me to Christ. In the mean time our friendship certainly took some damage, and has never fully recovered. |
Thanks for sharing.... My friend and her husband never gave up (after four years) and told me that they would NEVER give up on a lost soul. (They couldn't even realize how insulting that was.) They became increasingly outspoken the last several months, with constant warnings of the hell that awaited me unless I came around to their religion. A lot of frustration was building - definitely on my end and probably on hers, and they ignored my pleas to stop. I had to sever things for my own well-being. I credit you that you can maintain a friendshio with your grad school friend, albeit a damaged one. I probably could have maintained my friendship if she were the only one zi had to deal with, but her husband liked to join us for our get-togethers so he could make another proselytizing effort. Couldn't stand it anymore. |
