| DD needs a few everyday dresses (so nothing fancy) in long or 3/4 sleeve. All I'm finding are sleeveless or short sleeve dresses. Am I just to early in the season? I've looked at Macy's, JCPenny, Justice, Kohl's, Sears, Target, Nordstrom and Dillards. As you can see, I'm looking for a few dresses that will not break the bank. I'd look at skirts and blouses/sweaters as well. I'm just not finding anything. We have been to a few stores, and looked online. Where else should I be looking? |

Orthodox Jewish and Apostolic Christian girls buy cute dresses and tops on line. All very modest, but fashionable. Google frum teens or Apostolic clothing.
My tween DD is very modest. We're Catholic. She likes to wear sleeveless dresses over very thin long sleeve tees. |
| They're not that popular, honestly, but you may also be too early. Try Zulily or Amazon. |
I figured. My DD wants to wear dresses to school. I won't buy her sleeveless dresses for fall/winter. This was so much easier in the smaller sizes. |
| In this area, modesty is less popular, but head to NY and NJ and you can find plenty of choices in stores. |
Buy shrugs and cardigans to wear on top. Problem solved. |
Already thought of the cardigan. DD refuses to wear one. I had not thought of a shrug though. That is a good idea (maybe I can sell her on the fact that it is much smaller than a sweater or cardigan). |

Some dresses and jumpers look cute with a tight fitting long sleeve tee underneath.
I think it is a little early to find a nice selection of long sleeve dresses, though. |

This is OP. Yes, I'm probably getting ahead of myself. Had to get DD an entirely new wardrobe for the fall. She had a massive growth spurt. Grew 2 sizes in shoes and at least 2 sizes in clothes. So far we have pants and a few tops. Still working on tops, dresses, skirts and footless tights ( she hates traditional tights). I'm waiting for the summer sales to end and for the fall items to be put out in full force. I was looking online, and even there it was hard to find anything but summery dresses. |
| Abercrombie and Fitch -- look under skater dresses |
| ASOS, Modcloth |
something tells me a skater dress is too short. |
0P here. I'm a mom of a nine-year-old who is so tall that she wears junior size clothing. Her growth pattern is pretty much like all the females on my side of the family. We were always the tallest kids up until the six grade when we stop growing. So a lot of the clothing I'm finding now is not appropriate for a nine-year-old. Thank goodness for stretch pants and skinny jeans and long tops because that's what's getting us through a lot. It's dresses where I'm having an issue. Something like a Hannah play dress in a larger size is too babyish (according to my DD) but dresses I'm finding in junior departments (casual, not event styles) are not completely appropriate either. I'm not specifically looking for very frummy or religious Clothing. |
I guess I'll just wait till further into the season and look around again. |
