Robust moms - how do you keep the weight on? Is it possible...

Anonymous
I eat and I eat and I can't put on any weight.

My Doctor thinks I have a eating disorder.

I eat plenty of carbs and even drink a beer a night.

What can I do?

Try some protein shakes. Have you been checked to see if you have a worm?

I heard it's just as hard to gain weight when you are naturally thin as it is to lose it when you are naturally on the heavy side.

I'd just focus on eating healthy, rather than really gaining. Eat good fats (avocado/olive oil), proteins, and complex carbs. I also heard on a TV program that the average woman eats 1400 calories a day. Do you eat at least that? (I eat 1800, but I'm not exactly thin, either).

PPs, I believe this post is simply a poorly-conceived and unfunny satire of the other thread asking think women how to keep the weight off.

Move to the suburbs and make sure you do a McDonalds stop on each route dropping and picking the kids up from school. Become the bake sale mom and make sure ALL your volunteer activities involve turning a cupcake into some character through the extensive use of gummy candy and sugar flowers. Invest in a deep fryer and make sure every veggie has a good double coat of batter and deep fry. Don't forget to deep fry the Thanksgiving turkey, you'll need a special a barrel but so worth the investment. The best way to gain weight or at least not lose it is to join a pricey gym and buy lots of Chuck Norris or Suzanne Sommers exercise equipment advertised late at night. Eat chips and dip while we watch the infomercial. Good luck! You'll be in that LLBean one piece with swim skirt before you know it!

Yeah, I thought about that. But I also have a few friends who are extremely, painfully thin, and they get asked all the time outright if they have eating disorders. They aren't in a healthy BMI range, but I watch them eat, and they eat a lot. Some people just can't move their weight easily, up or down.

Check your thyroid.

And sit on your ass all day at your job. That will do it.

If this post is for real....I had a boyfriend who was very thin. He asked his doctor how to gain weight. The doctor said don't try, because if you eat more, your body will simply burn it off. People who are naturally very thin have a high metabolism. If you eat more, it will get burned off. In fact, there is a specific gene that prevents (some very lucky people) from gaining any weight from a high fat diet.

Sorry, you are as stuck as obese people are.
