I had asked earlier about using black hose (yes- it's been THAT long)- so now- I thought i read about pleated pants- are they a fashion no-no? including work? I work for a conservative place but overall the top execs go super formal- I can go classy formal and even just classy business formal IF I knew what that meant- can you please help? I saw pointy shoes (with style) are in- anything else? A going back to work mom - dad is staying at home since economy is bad and it worked for me..

Generally, I would say no pleats ever. They just don't flatter anyone. HOWEVER, if there is an economic issue and all you've got is pleated pants, then by all means wear them! Fashion is less important than your bank account.
I am a big follower of fashion and slouchy, baggy pleated pants are the really in thing right now. So you are on the cutting edge!
I would skip pleated pants for a conservative office. Yes, I can see big, slouchy ones with stilletos on a waif thin twenty something in a creative field looking great. For the rest of us, not so much. Flat front is going to be more flattering. I prefer a pointed toe despite fashion ins and outs as more flattering to my leg. Pencil skirts and heels with a cardigan and nice top never really is out of style. Go for conservative with a flair, interesting piece of jewlery (one), cool shoes, an interesting print blouse, etc. Best of luck to you.
