NVCC online classes in DC?

Does anyone know anything about taking classes from NVCC online while living in DC? I want to take a class for personal knowledge and not for the degree. I was told that I can't do it since I live in DC and they aren't certified or something. I want to be able to do the labs and tests in person so NVCC makes the most sense. Has anyone heard of this?!

I don't understand why you couldn't take them. You'd just pay out of state tuition. They don't care if you're working toward a degree.

Also, you can apply online. It's a simple process and you'll know within 5 minutes if you can enroll.

I was told it is an accreditation issue.
