Fairfax County GT Center bus transportation

I just read this on the FCAG Yahoo Group:



I am posting here because I received several emails off-list with the same question.

The FY 2010 Budget *as it stands now* does NOT provide transportation to GT Centers for those GT Center-eligible students that have Local Level IV services at their base schools.

If this is important to you, I suggest that you email your District's School Board member as well as the three At-Large School Board members prior to the 4/30 work session. Please let them know your thoughts. (Several School Board members have informed me that they have not heard much from their constituents on the GT Center transportation issue.)

Can you translate that into English for me? I have an upcoming Kindergartner in FFX.

It won't affect kindergarteners -- it's only an issue for the 3rd graders and up who are: a) admitted to gifted and talented centers and b) have as their neighborhood school one that chooses to provide "level IV" (e.g. supposedly equivalent to the GT centers) services at the school.
