Traveling by myself and need to give myself a shot

Anonymous
After reviewing the protocol with our nurse, I realized that one of the dates where I need to give myself a shot of Bravelle, I'll be traveling out of town w/o my husband who is usually the one who gives me the shot. I can either wait a few days to start Clomid and be home for when my husband can give me the shot (already talked to our nurse and dr about waiting and they are fine with that) or start Clomid tonight and attempt to give myself the shot next weekend. Anyone else have tips on giving yourself a shot in your abdomen? I don't think I can do it b/c I can't even watch when I get a shot of any kind (flu, Bravelle, any immunization) or draw blood. I don't know how I can do this myself but am not sure we want to wait a few days. I also realize it's just a few days but we've already delayed the process. Would love to hear from those who have BTDT with suggestions.

The shots are not a big deal. I give IM shots to myself, the abdomen ones are a piece of cake. Watch a few Youtube videos to see how it's done. Ice the area to numb it. Reward yourself with a special dessert.

Find a nurse to do it. There are services or doctor offices that will administer.
Like a home health nurse or clinic
You should be able to find someone

I don't like needles at all but when I was going through infertility treatment I did all my own shots - every day for months. My husband never even saw any of the stuff. He would have completely freaked out if he had.

I would have never thought I could do it but I was so determined to get pregnant that I forged ahead and found it was really not that big a deal.

That kid, our youngest, is on elementary school now.

Abdominal shots are not hard. I did my own and didn't feel the need to use ice. Grab an "inch of pinch" with your off hand, and use your dominant hand to inject the shot. Quick & easy.

In the abdomen it's a piece of cake. I gave myself daily injections there for months. Clean the skin with the alcohol wipe, pinch and do the shot.

I promise you can do this yourself. I've given myself weekly shots in my thighs and abdomen for 15 years. Grab a pinch, count to three, and do it. Then laugh about how much of a non-event it was. The longer you spend pretending to psych yourself up, the more anxious you actually get.

Shots in your abdomen hurt a lot less than the flu shot in your arm. In fact, they don't really hurt at all. Do the ones before you go so you know you can do it on your trip. You will be fine.

I just went through this when traveling to New York. I hired a nurse through ivfinjectionstogo.com. I hated paying money for something I know I could have done myself but I haven't given myself a shot before and didn't want to learn. It was worth the money. I suggest finding something similar!

These are a piece of cake! I preferred to hold an ice pack on my abdomen for almost 20 minutes to completely numb it & then it's a non-issue. I gave all of my own shots except the triggers for 2 cycles. You can do it!

You can do it! Ice, ice, baby!

OP here. My cousins husband is a pharmacist and I thought I had messed up the mixing so I had him help. Next time! I appreciate all the words of advice and support.
