Wondering if I'm having a chemical pregnancy - I took a flat FRER yesterday and saw a light second line. Took one of the new curved handle FRERs today and got a test line about the same as yesterday but the control line is clearly lighter than the test line on the flat shaped test. Anyone else notice the lines on the new curved tests are lighter than the flat shaped ones?
I've heard the curved FRERs are more prone to evap lines. I'd retest with one that has a straight handle -- don't bother trying to compare lines on the tests when they're designed so differently. Good luck!
I had an evap/false positive with them; the line was was faint but definitely pink - every other test including an old style FRER was negative. Less than 12 hours later my blood work was negative (less than 2).
øh that sucks, i just bought 3 of these!
You may want to do a few days worth. I usually use the cheap strips from Amazon. In my experience, if there are a few days worth of light lines it could very well be a chemical - though nothing is definite until you get bloodwork (or your period).
Darn. I'm 9 dpo and had a slight line with them aided handle freer. I mean a squinter. Was hoping I would wake up to a darker line tomorrow. Oh well
|
OP Here - Seems like the curved handle FRERs just have different amounts of dye in them, even in the same pack. I took another test this morning and today's control line was much darker than yesterday's, and the test line was too.
Trying not to drive myself crazy with the darkness of the lines but it sucks there seems to be so much variability in the new curved handle tests. If you can find some flat ones, get 'em before they are gone. They are so much more reliable. |
People have been reporting that they are defective. Lots of pink squinters that turned out to be nothing.

Yes, i just took one today in the morning, and it was stark white. Then I held my pee for 4 hrs and tested again. For a while, both my husband and I thought there was a very very very faint second line. However, it turned out to be the pooling of the pee (sorry) exactly where the screen bends! Who tests those things before they are on the market??? No wonder they are so cheap at Walmart. I'm sure a man designed this new curved version. Idiot!
Every time FRER comes out with a new test or design, the quality just gets worse. I've noticed that over the years.
