Preschool and Daycare Discussion
|
Does anyone know anything / have an opinion about Ballston Children's Center in Arlington? My daughter will be almost 3 in the Fall and they have a space for her. On paper and based on my brief tour it looks great - large, bright classrooms, lots of toys, many activities and programs, wonderful playground, etc., but I'm nervous about making the decision to enroll her without talking to a parent who has or has had a child there. One of my concerns is the fact that they have several (i.e. many!) openings for the 3 year old classroom, while their 2 1/2 room is full. This is very unusual in this area, where most daycares/preschools fill up super fast and have waitlists.
Thanks in advance for any input. Emma's Mom |
| Hi Emma's Mom, did you ever get any more information on Ballston Children's Center (or end up going there)? We are looking at the center for our son as well. Thank you! |
| I too am interested in the center. Anyone send there child there? |

i don't know anything about this center specifically, but it may be that a lot of 3-year-olds' parents are putting them in preschool instead of daycare, while the 2.5's are either not old enough for preschool or not potty-trained enough for preschools that require that. It may also be a sign that this center's 3-year-old program doesn't have much of a preschool program, and the parents want that. Or it may be a fluke, or due to a change in the way they group kids.
good luck - hope you find some info! I've been curious about the center myself, as I walk past it on my way to the gym. |
| Do you know the cost? |
| I have also been researching preschools and came across Ballston Children's Center. I keep coming across random inspection violations through a google search.. I'm not sure what that's all about but it does raise some concern for me. |
