Congratulations! We delivered our daughter at WHC in September. We delivered with the midwives from the DC Birth Center. The L&D experience was outstanding. Our L&D nurse was fabulous. The delivery suites are very nice. On the down side, the recovery part of our stay was a lot less positive. The recovery nurses left a lot to be desired. The worst part was that my DD and I were having a VERY hard time with breastfeeding. None of the nurses were terribly helpful. They kept promising me that a lactation consultant would come by, but she never appeared. If you do plan on breastfeeding, it might be a good idea to have a lactation consultant lined up for when you do leave the hospital. If you are happy with your OB then I think you will be fine with WHC. Like I said, the L&D part is great. And that's the most important part! BTW, I posted something similar before my DD was born. I think two people responded. You can probably find the thread on the old DCUM site by searching WHC. Best of luck!
