If you took help from private education counselors in HS for DC please Share your experience ,
- who and where - How much did you pay, was it worth it - In which schools did DC get accepted Lastly do you think you and DC could have done it with out the counselor. |
It will save money and work better if you and DC do it yourself.
My nephew does live in the area, but their family used one and gave really poor advice on where to apply. Arty, dyslexic kid who wants to work in advertising like Daddy is at an huge public agricultural college. Did not apply to any SLACs. Waste of money.
^^ doesn't live in area.
I think it was valuable because first DS wouldn't listen to us during the process. Took that pressure off. Also, it helped us learn about the process since we were clueless. That said, I think the counselors tend to shoot for slightly lower targets because they want you to get in. For 2nd DS, the counselor was full and referred us to an associate. That associate was not as good and I'm not sure it was worth it as we were now more knowledgeable and she really didn't add much.
