Anyone care to do a rain dance?

It is soooo dry- even when the scattered storms passed through the area last week they pretty much skipped our neighborhood. I fee like I'm out there watering the flowers and veggies every day....

Wierd spring overall- unuaually late and chilly to abnormally warm in the matter of a couple weeks!

Seriously. And I am hating this heat blast that's coming tomorrow. I need some cool wet weather to pull some weeds. This week has been glorious though.

If you're watering every day, you need some kind of mulch to cover the soil!

Get a rain barrel and conserve the water for later use.

I have one but it's now empty! Because we've had no rain.

Fair enough on the mulch- I put some down last weekend and need to finish this weekend. But I have a lot of small transplants and a couple new shrubs at the moment- I'm actually not watering everything every day, but end up doing a section of the yard each day. I just don't typically have to water this often this time of year.

This year has definitely been weird - snow late in the season then quickly warm. Now it seems drier than at this point last year, but we haven't had to water much at all so far. I have raised beds for vegetables, and water about every third day. We haven't watered our flowers or other plants at all; rain has been sufficient. Rain barrel is still pretty full at this point, but I don't think it will stay that way.

Lucky you! Until yesterday we hadn't had anything in at least two weeks (outside a sprinkle). Glad we had some rain to wash some of the pollen away!

It's been pouring buckets in northern Montgomery county. Localized flooding...please stop dancing.
