My h made an 8x4 w wood from home depot. Super easy

My husband and I are terrible at anything handy and we made ours with wood from home depot as well. It took several hours and some fighting, but it worked.

OMG ... this is so easy.

This might not be how you want to do it, but here is one way:

* put down layers of wet newspaper on top of the 3 x 7 area you have chosen
* use whatever you want for edging - wood, rocks, brick, straw bales
* fill with good topsoil

District Garden just installed 4x8 cedar beds for us.

Do you want someone to just build the frame? Do you have a handyman you like or that your neighbors recommend? This is a very straightforward project and shouldn't cost a lot of money.
(we built four raised beds last year, at Home Depot you can even get the pieces of wood cut there so you basically just assemble them when you get home)

I just bought one off amazon. 4 x8 feet. less than 50 dollars. made of some recycled composite, so hopefully will wear well. no brainer to put together.

We would like to do this too - how do you keep the animals out? Any recommendations for books etc for brand newbies?

all sorts of kits at home depot that require no real work to assemble.

My husband made a raised bed out of lumber. We then filled it with rich soil and our vegetables are taking off.

Me.

I made mine for less than $50 with some 2x6 and a box of deck screws.
