Grape hyacinths eaten!

Something ate my grape hyacinths this morning. I'm furious. I though they were deer resistant.

Nothing is deer proof.

Bunnies? They eat all our crocus pansy flowers (sometimes in one day), and some of the verigated hosta.

I confess. I ate them. I thought they were grapes. I spit them all out after I realized they were just flowers.

Anyone else seeing bunnies where you never saw them before?

This is just to say

I have eaten
the grape hyacinths
that were in
the garden

and which
you were probably
hoping
to enjoy

Forgive me
they were delicious
so purple
and so grapey

We've had a ton of cottontail rabbits in upper NW for a few years now. They severely limit our ability to plant especially native perennials, because they chew things to the ground. I recently learned that the city considers them a "Species of Greatest Conservation Need", which is pretty unbelievable given that I've sighted as many as 20 in my garden...
