Growing a raspberry 'fountain'

Anonymous
So I decided to try something new. I bought two raspberry vines that had three canes trained onto a willow pyramid. I went out and bought two metal structures at Meadows Farms - have no idea what they were for as they had three legs and a hole in the center. I also bought two small Obelisk-style metal trellises and turned each one upside down inside the hole of the other structure. I planted the raspberry in the ground with this structure over it, and threaded the raspberry canes through the hole and into the obelisk. The goal is to train the canes through the obelisk and up and over the outside to create a fountain of canes. I'm hoping the photo appears below, but if not, just click on the link:

This reminds me of three enormous fountains of flowers (bougainvillea) at the Getty Museum in Los Angeles:

I found much better pictures of it but can't seem to get them on here.

Oh - I've seen those!! Perhaps it stuck in my mind and that's where the idea came from. I remember loving those when I visited.

Thanks for the reminder!!
