Knobs or pulls?
I'm leaning towards pulls for everything, but I'm curious. We have all drawers on the bottom, so it will probably be all pulls for the bottom cabinets. On the top cabinets would you like knobs or pulls? |
| I generally prefer pulls (and that's what we have everywhere in our kitchen). But in my old house, we had pulls on the drawers and knobs on the doors. It was a nice look that kept things from being to matchy matchy. |

I like pulls because if you open two cabinet doors back-to-back, the knobs can get stuck together, and I am the sort of person who gets worn down by minor irritants.
So you could get all pulls, or you could just be a bigger person than I am. |
| I just had the cabinets replaced and I moved from knobs to pulls. The knobs had a bad habit of catching on clothes and anything else that brushed against them. I put pulls on drawers and cabinets and they look great. |
| Pulls on drawers. Knobs on cabinets. Latch under the sink. Keep the same manufacturer so that the finishes match. That's most important IMHO. |
Why a latch under the sink? |
Custom new cabinets and didn't want to child proof them with the plastic child proof mechanisms. All hazardous materials go under the sink. The latch was something my young kids didn't know how to work. By the time they knew, they knew to stay out. Just don't operate it in front of them. They'll learn sooner than later.

Gotcha. I keep cleaning things in the top shelf of the laundry room |
That was my plan B. Out of reach! |
| I think it is just a personal preference. I went with pulls on both cabinets and drawers. I think knobs look nice, too. |
| Another vote for pulls on drawers, knobs on cabinets. |
| Make sure the pulls don't catch on your clothing. Our last kitchen had them and it was so annoying. |
| Pulls are easier for people with arthritis. |
