Don't think I'll ever understand the appeal of getting tattoos; sure, they may look fun and unique at first, but over time, they just seem to look like patches of smudge, especially when they are inside the fingers or wrist area. Here's Rihanna with some 'art' on her foot/ankle region:

I happen to agree that they blur and become distorted over time.
This is one major reason I wouldn't ever get one. People look "cool" from about 25-35 with tattoos when they can dress younger and they look crisp and are on youthful skin, but every time I see a 50+ woman with a tattoo it just looks so BAD.
OP back ... Good choice of word, that they are crisp on young skin. But even on men, those who are young like Bieber (since he loves showing his skin and all his markings) -- I wonder if he'll love himself as much (though, who knows) when those pieces of art start to change.
