The universities top 5? Stanford, Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Yale.

The LAC top 5? Amherst, Pomona, Williams, Wellesley, Bowdoin (Swarthmore was 8th).

No cute 5 word acronym to make with A/P/W/W/B!

Yes that is an interesting ranking. Reduces the bias of any individual ranking and yields rather good results.
There is a reason there is no similar acronym for elite LACs. Even the lower ivies blow any LAC out of the water.

Lol AWS is not a thing, there is one poster who repeatedly tries to make it happen. it won't.

This. Even in an elite prep/boarding school or ivy league crowd AWS as an acronym would elicit blank stares from most. definitely not a thing.

It still distinguishes your resume 20 years out of school when you're job hunting. People know you are smart.

Not Cornell but agrees on the rest

It has been said before, but the #1 difference is prestige. I know many people who believe that the non-HYP ivies are not really elite. HYP are the only acceptable ivy options to them and the only comparable alternatives are Stanford or MIT, for those who want a non-ivy experience.

Despite what these people think, you won't be deprived of any major opportunities if you attend a lower ivy/elite school vs a HYPSM school.
