"Notes From the Internet Apocalyse"

I'm looking for reading suggestions for a late teen male, reluctant reader. He is a computer and theatre geek. I read a recommendation for this book for teens somewhere (maybe the WaPo?).
When I read the reviews online it sounds intriguing but maybe too risque? Has anyone read this book? What do you think?
It's by Wayne Gladstone, BTW.

I read that way back when it was being posted online as a serial. Risque isn't the issue. It's just not very good.
