First off, I think my thermometer sucks because I rarely get the same reading twice, just kind of ballpark. But usually, my temp goes up right when I expect it to, after several days of ewcm. This month, it went from low-mid 97s to high 97s, but then again up into low-mid 98s (though I had a lot of wakefulness plus some alcohol this cycle). Is this a common theme? Or should I count ovulation from the 98s? I'm not yet ttc, but trying to lengthen my luteal phase with just vitamins and am curious to see if it actually worked!

You should probably sign up for fertility friend and get a BBT thermometer. Drinking does impact your temp so try not to get drunk around the time you think you are ovulating bc you will have to throw that temp out.
How are you lengthening your luteal phase and why do you think it is too short? |
Yes I know about the drinking, both my husband and I had birthdays this month and like I said, I am not seriously TTC just yet. LP is 10 days, which is the minimum. B complex.

| Yes, get the fertility friend app! That way you can actually see a pattern. My temp was always in the 98.something's in the luteal phase. |
And to clarify - I am on progesterone. Mine is always in the 97's until 3 days after O when I take my pill and it jumps up to the 98s. I see you mentioned yours does this also. Some women are just slow to have a temp rise but it could be indicative of low progesterone. Log your temps into the fertility friend app so you can see exactly when you ovulated and see how slow/quick your temp is rising. If you see that it takes a few days to reach the 98s maybe that's something you can talk to your doctor about. |
| It most likely is a low progesterone thing, since for my last pregnancy, I did take progesterone. But I was in more of a hurry to get pregnant then as it was my first, and so I am just trying to see if I can regulate things naturally this time around. |
