Cheapest Source for Magazine Subscriptions

Anonymous
While in transit on a flight yesterday (and in anticipation for an upcoming trip to the beach), I spent almost $40 on magazines and realized that this has been happening more frequently lately. Seems to me that it is time for some subscriptions. I am thinking Time and People and maybe one more. I know that they always have the subscription cards in the magazines, but are their cheaper ways to get subscribed?

Sometimes the tablet subscription is cheaper because they don't have to mail it to you. Also, you can forgo the subscription entirely and just buy the issues that interest you. However, you need to already have a tablet, and these aren't cheap.

Time and People? How about The Economist?

I always look here first:

Have gotten really good dealson this site. I also read several mags for free through my local library. Just had to install the Zinio app on my iPad.

How about National Geographic for the third choice?

+1. I love my Economist, but where can I buy a discounted subscription?

Amazon had a bunch on sale $5/year, not sure if it's still on

Do you have extra reward points from hotels or whatever? Sometimes, you can use them for magazines.

Check out discountmags.com-- or slicksdeals will flag the really good deals. We probably get 6 or 7 magazines now and usually pay about $10/year.

People on this board have nothing better to do than judge others' magazine choices. Sad.

You can get a lot of free magazine deals now--most of what I get I haven't paid anything for. I use heyitsfree.net and rewardsgold.com. Plus I have gotten free subscriptions from online shopping at wayfair and shoebuy.

For the cheapest deals, I have usually just went on their websites and found them. Once you order one subscription, then you usually get offers from others at a discount. Same if you order other things online.

You also can get a free gift w/your paid subscription, but be forewarned, the gifts are usually cheap items you can find at any dollar store but look expensive in the photos they present.

For People magazine, it is rare to find a good deal on that magazine because it really is a good one.

My sister gets mileage points for flying certain airlines and she gets me People magazine for free as well as for five other people. I would most definitely look into that option if I were you.
