Popular "name" brand of handbag

I'm not one to usually get into having certain "brands" (mainly b/c too $$). But I'd like to ask my hubby for a nice handbag that I could use for work -- medium size -- as a present. What brand should I ask for? I'm in my upper 30s FWIW. Coach? YSL? Other? Thanks! Links more than welcome too

| Louis Vuitton Neverfull is a perfect work tote and every day bag. Medium is most popular but I have GM and love it (granted I don't carry it a lot). |

| Op here -- thanks for the ideas. Although looking at many of the prices, I'm remembering why I don't have brand names. $300 is about the max I'd want to spend/ have spent on it. |
