Do cats need a license in DC?

We're renovating our home and are renting an apartment. We have a cat. The apartment application comes with a very generic "pet application" which seems to be mainly geared towards dogs (I say this because it lists 15+ breeds of dogs that are not allowed) and it asks for a rabies tag # (no problem, got that) and a license ID #. I've been googling and I can't seem to find anything about licenses in DC for cats..... Does anyone know about this?
