Not sure what is going on. Last week I planted a small cucumber plant that I bought at a garden store in a large container. I used fresh potting soil, sprinkled some osmocote in the dirt, have been making sure it's been watered regularly, but today I noticed that the lower leaves are starting to turn brown and are drying up. Do I have some type of wilt disease or are the roots still trying to take hold? I also planted a tomato and green pepper in their own planters and they appear to be doing fine.
Is it just the bottom two leaves?
The two bottom leaves usually do die off. If the others are okay, you're good.
OP here - thank you! It does look like the bottom 2 leaves.
I would only be concerned if the stem looks pinched or withered. If the stem looks healthy then the plant is fine.
Watch the temps. We are expecting dips next week. They might not be happy.
OP here. It looks like all the leaves are turning brown now. I think the plant has developed some kind of wilt or something which is weird because I just planted it a few weks ago. I think I might just remove it and either buy another plant or skip the cucumbers this year together and plant another tomato.
