Rain collection on a condo terrace with no gutters?

Has anyone successfully done this? Our condo has a large terrace that's open to the sky and I have a couple plants out there in pots. I would love to add more, however, last summer I spent a good 30 minutes every weekend hauling water back and forth in a can from our kitchen sink, and realistically I can't do any more of that (not to mention it's a huge waste of drinkable water). SO I'd like to start harvesting rain water out there. But we have no gutters, or even spots where runoff concentrates. I did some googling and found this, which seems like it would work, but it's super fug: http://www.rainsaucers.com/products.htm

Anyone BTDT and found a more aesthetically pleasing solution? Or should I just suck it up and get the fug thing and maybe put a trellis in front of it?
