| I have been seeing someone for about 6 weeks and I am totally head over heels; pretty sure it is mutual, but I am bursting to tell him how much I love him, but don't want to do it first obviously. What is the typical time? I've only been in one other serious relationship, with my now ex - I think it took him about 4 weeks, but we were like 22, not 45! |
| Way too soon. |
| for it to be meaningful? at LEAST 6 months. |
| You must hold back if you want this to last. Otherwise you will seem way too needy. |
| a few months at least |
|
If you really feel that way, then tell him - just be prepared because he may not be there yet.
|
6 weeks?! No, don't tell him. |
| It's not real if it's only six weeks. Two months absolute minimum and three or longer is better. |
| Did you fuck him for the first time this weekend or something? |
OP here. I know, I know you guys are right, but he is awesome and I would never say it first, but…I need to express my "affection."
|
yes, how did you know? serious question. |
Haha - dickmatized,
|
You need to wait until the freaky sex hormone stuff wears off. Doesn't mean you can't *say* it, but know that your biology is messing with you a bit here and make sure you do a gut check somewhere between the 6 months/year mark to make sure you actually *like* him. |
Clearly you've got orgasm on the brain. a) know that nothing you say really means anything until you come off that cloud. b) if your goal is to "keep him", then don't freak him out - keep your own counsel until it matters. |
| Way too soon. With dh we were dating about 5 months before saying it. |
