Dear TTC people, has anyone talked to you about acupuncture?

I don't usually read this forum, but saw it and thought I'd chime in. When I was 20, I had major surgery as I had a 5lb cyst on my right ovary. The cyst and ovary were removed, they could not explain how I got the cysts, but noted it was pre-cancerous, and on top of that, I later found out I had PCOS and endometriosis. I was told by my specialist at the time that if I didn't get pregnant by the time I was 25 - forget it. I was married at 22, my husband and I got busy, but nothing. I went to the specialist, did the clomid thing (although the Dr. was reluctant to put me on it past a few months because he said it may cause cancer in people with my clinical history). About the time we were starting the process of IVF, I read some studies that said that infertile women who had acupuncture done increased their chances by 30%. At $50 a visit to the acupuncturist, I thought, "what's there to lose?". I can't explain it, but after a few months of visits (I went once a week to two weeks), I felt better. My clots were gone and my period was finally regular. I was still seeing the specialist, but wasn't on meds yet...as a matter of fact, the day I went to pick up the $1k fertility drug shot for my IVF, I picked up a pregnancy test and it was positive. I never took the shot. I had my son at 28, my daughter at 30.
