Hi,
I am applying for a fed job through USAJOBS, and the status changed from "reviewed" back to "received" today. The job is still open but the first close out date just passed several days ago. So I guess this change indicates I was not selected for referral. The background is I applied for the same job in the same office last year and almost got the offer (Identified, paperwork processing), but due to some personal reason I cannot take the offer, so they cancelled it and threatened me HR MAY label me and do not take me for future applications. This year the situation has changed so I applied again. My question is, is there such blacklist thing at fed HR? I don't know if the administration people from one office can be so powerful to notify Agency HR about my application withdrawn. I am trying to find out why I was not referred this year, so I can do better next. Thanks, everyone. |

You're giving HR a lot of credit to assume they can do this much coordination across the agency.
However, if you're applying to a job in the same group within the same agency that you applied for the last time someone might remember that you didn't take the job and wouldn't want to waste time interviewing you again. I think it's a little disingenuous to suggest a statement to that effect from HR last year was a threat. |
