After being told you are getting a raise, how long do you wait to ask about it?

A couple of weeks ago, my boss told me I was going to be getting a raise but they were still working out the numbers. This was told after our weekly meeting not during a review period or anything like that. Since then, he hasn't mentioned anything about it. My boss is taking an 8 month sabbatical starting shortly before Christmas and I suspect, since I am one step below my boss, that this raise is a way to entice me to stay with the company. I've never been in the position, as usually I've just been given raises at my yearly review, not a random time during the year. How long should I wait before bringing the issue up with my boss?

I hadn't really planned to beat around the bush about it. At the end of our weekly meeting, I was just going to bring it up as kind of "On X day you mentioned that you and Y (President of company) were working on the numbers for a raise. I was wondering where it stands at the moment". Something alone those lines, not that exactly.

I like 11:32. They know you work for money, not for happiness, so they shouldn't be surprised you want to follow up.
