6th grade LLIV and rotating teachers

If your LLIV is entirely self-contained 3-5th grade, do your 6th graders rotate through teachers/mix for academic subjects for grade 6? I can see how this would work for students who have been taking Advanced Math, but how does it work with other subjects, especially Language Arts? A friend told me our school will do this for Grade 6, and my only worry is whether the level of instruction will prepare DS well for AAP in Middle School. We only have one LLIV per grade in upper grades.
