My teenage son plans to take a couple of golf lessons while we are on vacation. What shoes can/should he wear? Are people normally allowed to wear sneakers on the greens? I hate to buy him special shoes just for a couple of hours.
Thx! |
You have to wear golf shoes on the golf course. See if someone can lend you a pair for your trip or see if you can rent a pair for lessons. |
Sneakers are fine. LOL the PP. |
Smooth soled sneakers are fine. You don't need golf shoes. |
I agree. Sneakers are fine. If he gets into golf then you can think about golf shoes. |
ski boots

I like to play barefoot but some courses aren't happy about it. |
Sneakers are fine, but know that typically you will get wet an a little dirty. Sambas would be a better choice than running shoes. |
You can wear tennis shoes. If your boy has to have a golf pair and you have a Nike outlet near you they have golf cleats for under $40. |
sneakers are just fine.... |
Probably sneakers will be fine, but some private courses do have a dress code and require golf shoes. I'd check ahead if in doubt. |
You can probably order him something on line for under $50. I think my kids' golf shoes were $25 |
Sneakers are fine. In fact, almost all courses have banned metal spikes, and now most golf shoes are not very different from sneakers. Particularly for kids taking lessons, no one expects kids to have golf shoes. Our club does require kids to be dressed appropriately, however (collared shirt, tucked in, belt, nice shorts or pants). |
