| Just thought inquiring minds might like to know that my daughter, currently a third grader, was finally offered a place at ATS for fourth grade. She was #90 on the kindergarten lottery wait list. The irony, of course, is that we are actually moving out of the area this summer, and unable to take the spot; even if we weren't moving we might have passed anyway since we are very happy with her current school. Just fascinating that there was in fact some movement on that list after all these years... |

Really? People want IN to ATS?
Huh. |
It definitely appeals to a large portion of Arlington parents. Probably just based on test scores. |
| Thanks for the info. It is interesting to see how the WL moves. |
I don't understand this post. The entire school is lottery-based, so clearly everyone who attends wanted "IN." Are you saying you can't believe anyone would apply to the lottery for an ATS spot? If so, I'm assuming you are zoned for a highly desirable N. Arlington school. I'm genuinely curious, b/c, although my DS is a few years away, I had every intention of looking into the ATS lottery. Although I think we would be perfectly happy with our S. Arlington school, I'm just trying to keep our options open. To the extent you have heard bad things about ATS recently, I'd be curious to hear them. |
| 09:34 - I think that poster was just a troll. Trying to get people upset for no reason seems to make some people happy. |
| My daughter got in for next year in the Kindergarten lottery. I was still skeptical until we went to the orientation that just happened. That place is fantastic. Wonderful teachers, excellent administration, all the opportunities you could want. Plus, you can't fight outcomes - i.e. test scores. |
