was that college and post-college years 90210? I stopped watching after the very first year out of high school...when I headed to college and then everyone was all into it and I was already over it. I know Anya (from the show) played Brendan's girlfriend for a little while, too - I occasionally catch a re-run and think "when the hell did this happen?" and I remember I didn't watch that crap.

Well they were only in high school for 3 years of the show and it lasted 10 years, so I would say you've missed a lot. I'm a pretty die hard fan and I don't know who Anya is, though.

Different poster here. Sorry, pp, I can't speak to 90210 but you're confusing Buffy the movie with Buffy the tv show. Swank was in the movie but not the tv show.

No, I'm not confused. My statement made sense inside MY head I meant Anya from the Buffy show (which came in the last 90s and starred Sarah Michelle Gellar), not like Hilary who was in the Buffy movie (from the early 90s starring Kristy Swanson and Luke Perry - oh, look 90210!).

And yes, I realize I missed a lot. I watched the freshman-year-of college-season, and decided I hated it. Went off to college myself the next year, and found out it was a big deal to watch 90210. I only know Emma/Anya (from the Buffy show) was on because I saw her on a rerun a few years back. I assume Hilary Swank was Steve's girlfriend in one of the later seasons? I think I did see her in a rerun at some point too, but again, I just didn't like it after high school, which is when everyone ELSE seemed to get into it.

I actually like the movie, because I think the dialogue is quite funny. You can tell that Joss wrote it, but Buffy the show was his actual vision for his words.

I just watched her in the HBO movie and liked it.
