Norwood or not?

Lots of Norwood fans here on DCUM. We are current Norwood family - had one child graduate last year and one still there. Overall experience was ok - some great teachers, some not great teachers, great arts and music programs, our kids appreciated the ability to play on 'no cut' sports teams. Our children's social experience was very cohort dependent. One has a nicer cohort, older child had a terrible one - lots of bullying (in person and online), mean kids. Children of VIPs and big donors will be protected and have minimal consequences for behavior issues. But I imagine this is true at other privates as well. Overall the experience was ok, still not sure if it is worth the money.

Absolutely love Norwood. Could not be happier! Ask anyone you know with kids there for their opinion and experiences.

For a bit of perspective, based on the current schedule of tuition fees, the cost of K-8 at Norwood is $347,700 and $448,820 at Bullis. A sizeable contingent of Norwood graduates moves on to Bullis every year. It’s almost like a safety school. Hands down, Norwood wins on value for money.
