One reason why I put the private school sticker on my car.

i don't care about the bumper stickers, but it's weird when parents wear their kids high school logos.

I think this conversation is strange. What is wrong with putting the school's sticker on the car? Is it only "showing off" when it is a private school sticker or is it also showing off when it is a public school. Is it also showing off if I put my kid's college sticker on my car too or is it only showing off if it is an ivy. Is it showing off when I put the soccer league sticker on my car too? This is ridiculous. I think those who are insecure see it as "showing off". My husband does not put the stickers on his car because he thinks it looks junky. I get that rationale but not because one thinks it is "showing off". DCUM never ceases to entertain me.

I'm not one to put bumper stickers on my car (too permanent) but have put a license plate frame and a magnet at different times. Sometimes I think it's interesting to see other people's interests as I'm driving -- whether it's a school, vacation spot, or hobby. Never thought it snobby as well.

As for parents wearing kids' school logos -- I'd wear them to kid's sporting event to show "school spirit" but don't think they'd be part of my everyday wardrobe.

I went to a perfectly nice but very regular public high school and everyone in our town had a bumper sticker or a t-shirt or a hat with the high school on it. It wasn't really bragging because almost everyone went there, it was just pride/school spirit. I agree with the poster who thinks this whole discussion reeks of fake modesty and snobbery. It's normal. It's not weird. In the real world, normal people do not think twice about stuff like this.

I agree pp -- I just thought someone was desperate for a new topic. Who cares what bumper stickers people put on their cars?

Does the thong say Landon or just Bears?

Where is OP, anyway? She never followed up on her post. Does she exist?

For fun, we put stickers from those other schools and sometimes even public schools on our late model Jag and then we drive around NW, DC acting like idiots. We dress like hillbillys and put in those fake teeth and pretend to be drunk and I let my husband yell and make suggestive comments at young women. Next, we pull up to a liquor store and send our 12-year-old in with an obviously fake ID to purchase a bottle of Jack. I'll tell you it beats the hell out of going to Rehobo. But the best part are the comments we get from people, I can't believe that your kids attend and act like that.

Hmmm, I never pay attention to bumper stickers. Who cares, really? I don't put stickers on my car because I choose not to advertise my kids' life and schedules all over the city. Call me paranoid, but weirdos read bumper stickers too.

I am always flipping people off, telling them to stoptheirgoddamntexting, and getoffthegoddamnphone (seriously, I give a little honk and have them roll down their windows)...I would never want the school to get a bad rep from my angry mom antics!
