I wear the Nippies under seamless body suits that I don’t want the bra line to show through in the back. I’ve considered trying Cakes, but my Nippies are still sticking just fine, so I haven’t ordered yet. |
Stick with the Nippies. I have both Nippies and Cakes and find Nippies to be far superior. The Cakes are made of a harder silicone and don’t conform to body nearly as well as the Nippies. I’ve also had them fall off which never happens with the Nippies.
Trying to make use of the Cakes that I already own nonetheless - they work best under a snug fitting tank or other such top. |
so do either of these products actually provide support? Looking for something to provide more support for racerback tanks with built in bras. |
No they don’t provide support.
But they are incredibly useful especially during the summer when bras just feel so uncomfortable and constricting and the synthetic materials they are made of stick to my skin and make me sweat. |
Responding again, sorry did not really answer your question - if you’ve got a tank with a built in bra I don’t think these products will do anything further for you unless you need more coverage (ie, the built in bra is unlined). I think Nippies or Cakes could be helpful in that circumstance. |
I use cakes almost daily. I have a big bust and large nipples and prefer unlined bras to ones with a thick lining that make me look more busty. I wear the cakes in between my bra and skin because that allows me to wear thin tshirts without my nipples being very obvious when I’m in a place with AC (eg grocery store) or whenever they get hard randomly (which is often).
Not sure why it’s hard for some people to understand that everyone has different preferences, and I prefer to not have people (especially men) glance at my chest or notice my nipples. I prefer cakes to the other brands because they’re not sticky (won’t self adhere if you’re not wearing something to hold them up (eg a bra, tank with shelf bra, or something that is form fitting up top). They are also very easy to clean. I was skeptical of the high price tag but since they last a long time and I wear them almost daily, they’re worth it for me. |
I honestly just got whatever the ones they sell in Bloomingdales' lingerie dept lol. They are good. I think they are called hippies. |
Some women have larger nipples. Cool if you don't have that problem. But I don't care to be stared at by men, when my nipples are hard through my workout shirts and bathing suits. |
Are these mostly for women who have had their boobs done? I’m guessing that not needing a bra and always showing are most likely for women with small boobs or ones who have had an augmentation. |
I’m a natural 30F with not particularly perky boobs (they definitely do not pass the pencil test) and wear them sometimes. I prefer to wear a real bra with underwire but I sometimes like wearing something backless or fun, and this is really the only option. |
Do you have permanent high beams or large areoles? |
I have not had my boobs done but am a 34dd and 5’2”. My nipples show through often— they are just overly reactive for some reason. My nipples are large so it’s very obvious. |
