This is your standard, all-around, great carry on from TravelPro. (the same as the WalkAbout sold at Macy's):

| Why not another Briggs & Reilly? |
Mostly price. We have a set and one of them broke (handle was ripped out by baggage handling on a flight) which I know they will fix but it’s a pain to get it fixed, and I don’t feel it was that well made to begin with. Their carryons are over $500 and I don’t think I can justify that for a bag right now. |
| Avoid anything by Ricardo. The TSA lock broke on mine after about the 3rd trip with it and they refused to replace the luggage. They would only offer a replacement lock, but you cannot remove the old lock without cutting into the inside lining. |
| Nearly every carryon I'm seeing - including most of those recommended here - is larger than allowed on most of the major US airlines. |
This one is perfectly allowable on major US Airlines. I'm 100% sure of that. Fits with no problem -- in the sizer and in the bin. |

Sorry: I meant this:

I love my monos suitcase. We all have one and a different color. I adore the purple. They have as part of their magnolia collaboration right now. The scuffs really do come off with a magic eraser, and a little elbow grease.

I’m the person who posted this originally, and we’ve carried it on domestic and international flights without any problems. |

Calpack came out with a new soft one recently but it's pretty pricey - less than Briggs though.
I used to swear by hardshells but now I prefer soft - you can fit more in with front pockets if you find the right bags. I have a monos and I'm so surprised I don't love it more. I SWEAR by my briggs. It really is crazy money but what I can fit in that thing is worth every penny. I have the soft 22in expandable with compression button. I have more affordable, stylish, lighter, popular luggage but damn if this is not the most awesomest carry on for what I can fit. That front pocket will hold 3 pairs of my shoes which is 1/2 the battle in terms of travelling for 7+ days. I can get a pillow, blanket, 3 pairs of shoes plus enough clothes for like 10 days in that thing. It's frigging amazing in terms of capacity. I looked a long time for a spinner that was 22x14 carryon size which can hold the most and I'm convinced this is the only one by far that holds the most. That front pocket is the bomb. |
DP. I love B and R- do they still make this model and can you provide a link? Front pocket sounds great. |
| Thanks for the travel pro info. Their models are close to 5 pounds which are what I look for in a carryon. |
